Italic type - In typography, italic type refers to cursive typefaces based on a stylized form of calligraphic handwriting. The influence from calligraphy can be seen in from their usual slight slanting to the right.
Oblique type - Oblique type is a form of type that slants slightly to the right, used in the same manner as italic type. Unlike italic type, however, it does not use different glyph shapes; it uses the same glyphs as roman type, except distorted.
Slanted type - Oblique type is not the same of Italic type - Italic (Cursive) type is based of Aldus Manutius calligraphy, and Oblique (Slanted) is a mere distortion.
